About Us

The Youth Arts Warehouse houses a dynamic collection of 'Arts' facilities including a theatre space, band performance area, art exhibition space, a music recording studio, and a multi facet arts room, which hosts photography, as well as arts and crafts. All these services are accessible and affordable to young people aged 12-25 in the Central Coast region. Since opening in February 2007 over 10,000 young people have utilised this amazing facility.

Our goal has been to deliver to the Central Coast region the kind of multi purpose art space young people would want to use for their own artistic expression, development and education. It gives a place and a sense of belonging in our community that has been absent for decades. The auspice of this project Regional Youth Support Services (a non government agency) have been successful in obtaining considerable  community and Government support to contribute to the set up of this half a million dollars project. RYSS worked in conjunction with the Parkside Board to develop this project which benefits the entire Central Coast community.

Almost fifty individual sponsors have put in a huge amount of support and deserve special mention including: Jeskah Steel, Raybal Building Services, Stephen Moore Architects, Bunnings Warehouse, ACE Access and Scaffolds, Active Hire Group, Economy Waste Services, Plaster Master, Walker Bros Timber, Water Cranes, Fletcher Insulation, Sky Dome, Lake Tiles, Wattyl Paints and Gosford City Council. Gosford, Gosford North and Terrigal Rotary Clubs have all backed the project and really pulled together to help fill the 'gaps' in project support. The Youth Arts Warehouse project has taken 10 years from concept to reality. All levels of Government and many business sponsors have helped create this community venture. The Australian Government (Regional Partnerships) have contributed $165,000 towards essential construction elements, ARTS NSW contributed $97,000, $75,000 from Newcastle Permanent Building Society, $25,000 from Housing NSW and $89,000 direct from the Premiers Department. The remaining funding came from our community partners including Rotary who have contributed not only ours of time but financially over $20,000.

The Youth Arts Warehouse is a proven best practice demonstration project offering arts and cultural programs and professional training to give young people a great venue and the best possible opportunities for a brighter future. This allows them not only an opportunity for fun and self expression but good foundations for artistic careers.
